7 Questions to Ask Before Area Rug Cleaning in Hollywood, FL

Ask whether the rug gets cleaned in your Hollywood home or goes off-site, what it is made of, what a pet accident means for the result and how the price is set. Pro Steamers Florida cleans many rugs in the home and takes others away for off-site cleaning, with pickup and delivery.

1. Will my rug be cleaned at home or taken away?

Many rugs can be cleaned in your home. Delicate rugs, heavily soiled rugs and rugs with certain pet-related issues may do better with off-site treatment, and the technician recommends which after looking at the rug. Our area rug cleaning page covers both options.

Plenty of Hollywood jobs stay in the house. One customer there wrote that "They did an amazing job at my home in Hollywood when they cleaned my area rugs." More on the town is on our carpet cleaning in Hollywood page.

2. What is my rug made of?

We clean Persian, Oriental, wool, synthetic, silk, viscose, shag and cotton rugs, and the method changes with the rug. Before recommending anything, we look at the fibers, the dyes, how the rug is made and the shape it's in.

If there's a label on the back corner, read it before you call. It may list the fiber and where the rug was made, which saves a lot of guessing on the phone.

3. Do you pick it up and bring it back?

For off-site cleaning, yes. Pickup and delivery are available, so a big rug doesn't have to go in the back of your car.

4. How long is the rug gone if it goes off-site?

Typical turnaround is 5 to 7 business days. Expedited service may be possible in special cases, so ask if you have a date coming up, like guests or a move. That figure is typical, not a promise, because some rugs need more work than others.

5. What happens with a pet accident on the rug?

Pet accidents can penetrate rug fibers and backing. We assess the affected areas and recommend treatment based on the rug's materials and condition, and results vary, so some permanent staining or odor may remain. You hear that before the work starts.

Tell us how old the accident is and whether anything has already been put on it. A rug with certain pet-related problems may be one of the ones that goes off-site.

6. How is the price worked out?

Rug prices vary by size, material, condition and treatment, so there's no flat rug price to quote you. Measure the length and width and take photos of the front, the back and any stains. The technician explains the recommended work and the price before the cleaning begins.

Our one published price is for carpet: 2 rooms of steam cleaning and deodorizer for $129. A rug is priced on its own.

7. Can the couch be done on the same visit?

Yes. A Hollywood customer wrote, "I used Pro Steamers for cleaning my couches and few area rugs in Hollywood and they did an amazing job." We clean sofas, sectionals, loveseats, dining chairs and other upholstered furniture, so say what else needs doing when you book. For couches, see our 7 things to know before upholstery cleaning.

Getting the rug ready for the visit

Note the length and width, check the label on the back and whether the rug has fringe, and take photos of both sides and any stains. Then call (954) 466-1462 or send the form with the size, the material if you know it and the rug's age.

Pick a time inside our hours, Sunday to Thursday 8 AM to 8 PM and Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. We're closed Saturday. Before the agreed time, clear chairs, tables and anything heavy off the rug. For hand-knotted pieces, inherited rugs and antiques, tell us about any worn spots or loose fringe, and whether the colors have ever run when something was spilled on the rug.

FAQs

Common questions

Do you do rug cleaning in Hollywood, FL?

Yes. Hollywood is one of the towns we work in. Many rugs are cleaned in the home, and others go off-site with pickup and delivery. Call (954) 466-1462 with the size and material.

Can you remove pet stains from an antique rug?

We assess the affected areas and recommend treatment based on the rug's materials and condition. Pet accidents can penetrate the fibers and backing, results vary, and some permanent staining or odor may remain. Delicate rugs and some pet-related problems may go off-site.

Do you repair area rugs?

We clean area rugs. Rug repair isn't one of the services we list, so tell us about worn spots, loose fringe or damage when you call and before the job, and the technician will say what the cleaning can and can't do for that rug.
